Martin Luther King Jr. was born in January 15, 1929. His real name was Michael but he changed it to Martin. At the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize. When notified of his selection, he announced that he would turn over the prize money of $54,123 to the furtherance of the civil rights movement.
On the evening of April 4, 1968, while standing on the balcony of his motel room in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was to lead a protest march in sympathy with striking garbage workers of that city, he was assassinated.
His quote means a lot to me, because he not only talk to his own race he is talking to every race. We shouldn't worry about what people think about us, and we should do what makes us happy. We only have one life, and we should have fun and enjoy it.

Although I have never dealt with what Dr.King dealt with I agree with this quote. I'm not going to let the negative attitudes of others pull me to their level.

Don't let a person dictate to you how to feel. An outsider shouldn't control your emotions. Especially an emotion such as hate there is nothing good that comes from hate.By hating someone for their skin color it makes you no better than the nazis in their era. The only way to fight ignorance is to gain knowledge so we learn from our mistakes and not repeat them.I have found that ignorant and unhappy people try to drag everyone around them down. I'm in an interracial marriage and we don't let the world dictate our happiness. You are exactly right in saying do "YOU" and to hell with what others think. Good Quote!!I wish more in the world would worry about themselves and not so much about what everyone was doing.
This is an excellent quote. I completely agree with it. Feelings of hate bring out all kinds of other bad feelings within you. No one is worth that, especially someone you obviously don't care much for. I use the term "greatly dislike".
Hate is a complete waste of energy.
i like this quote becuase it like shows the fact of life of being the better person and all.
I think this quote is very true. some people just want you to stoop down to their level. To make you feel bad, about yourself .Because they really feel bad about themselves.I know this is true because I delt with it in school .you know the people that think there so cool .
